Minor Planet Discoveries
Private Observatory Meyer/Obermair, Austria
(IAU Observatory Code: 540 Linz)
Updated 2003 Nov. 5
This page lists numbered minor planets, multi-opposition and single opposition (long arc and short arc)
asteroids discovered at the private observatory Meyer/Obermair near Linz, Austria (IAU Observatory Code 540 Linz),
using a 0.3m f/5.2 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope (until October 1999) and a 0.6m f/3.3 reflector (since October 1999), both in combination with a ST-6 CCD camera.
Prediscovery Image of (15949) Rhaeticus (1998 BQ) from the Digitized Sky Survey (DSS).
60 Minute Exposure taken 1983 Oct. 1 with the 1.2m UK Schmidt Telescope at Siding Spring.

Observers are encouraged to obtain follow-up astrometry of unnumbered minor planets listed below.
Orbital elements and ephemerides for preparing follow-up observations are available here.
For the numbered minor planets, orbital elements and ephemerides are also available.
Recent discoveries, for which follow-up observations are especially welcome, are listed in a seperate table below.
Minor planets originally credited to the observers at 540 Linz, but were later identified with another object, are also listed here.
Recent Discoveries
The table below lists minor planets that were recently discovered at 540 Linz.
Observers are encouraged to obtain additional astrometric observations of these objects to further improve their orbits.
